Import of non-metallic building materials in Russia in January-December 2016 decreased by 12.2% compared to the corresponding period of 2015 to 9.5 million m3. During January-December of 2016 there was a decrease in imports of non-metallic materials from Ukraine，at the same time, a decrease in the share of Ukrainian non-metallic materials in the total volume of imports by 49.6% by January-December 2015 to 21%. The decrease in imports of crushed stone is due to the introduction of licensing in December 2015. Since that period, imports of non-metallic materials from Ukraine have drastically decreased, which has led to a reduction of 5.6 million m3 (-74%) to 1.9 million m3 since the beginning of 2016. However, instead of deliveries from Ukraine came supplies from the Republic of Belarus, which increased during this period by 3 times compared to the corresponding period of 2015 from 2.3 to 6.9 million m3. In January-December 2016, the import of crushed stone in Russia decreased by 3% compared to the corresponding period of 2015 to 8.4 million m3, the dropout imports - decreased by 59%, to 0.9 million m3.
The volume of exports in December 2016 amounted to 3,3 thousand m3, which is 54% less than in December 2015. In general, for the period January-December 2016 exports of non-metallic construction materials decreased by 27% compared to the corresponding period of 2015 to 235.7 thousand m3.
