In the reporting month, the increase in cement shipment volumes compared to the previous month was observed at the plants of Eurocement +160 thousand tons (+13%) to 944 thousand tons, Asia Cement +30 thousand tons (+36%) to 115 thousand tons, Gazmetallproekt +26 thousand tons (+ 8%) to 347 thousand tons, Sebryakovcement +25 thousand tons (+15%) to 190 thousand tons, Siberian cement +14 thousand tons (+9%) to 165 thousand tons, YUGPK + 14 thousand tons (+ 11%) to 141 thousand tons

In April 2017, cement production in the Russian Federation decreased by 6.7% by April 2016 and amounted to 4.3 million tons. The fall in production in January-April 2017 by January-April 2016 - 3.9% to 13.0 million tons.

For January-April 2017, foreign trade turnover increased by the corresponding period of the previous year by 40.1% and amounted to 1.2 million tons.

The volume of clinker produced in May 2017 was 187 thousand tons. Voronezh branch of the Holding "EUROCEMENT group" achieved high production of clinker based on the results of work in May 2017. For the first time since the start-up of the plant in December 2013, the enterprise produced 187,121 tons of clinker per month, which is 7.326 million tons more than last May. It is worth noting that the volume of clinker produced is higher than the design capacity of the rotary kiln. Cement production in May also exceeded the similar indicator of the previous year by 35.638 thousand tons, 215.022 tons were produced.

The import of cement to Russia in March 2017 increased by 28.5% by March 2016 and amounted to 131 thousand tons. The volume of cement imports in Russia in January-March 2017 increased by 13.6% against January-March 2016 to 305 thousand tons. Export of cement from the Russian Federation in March 2017 by March 2016 increased by 5.5% to 67 thousand tons. The volume of export of cement from the Russian Federation since the beginning of 2017 decreased by 1.1% to 137 thousand tons.

In April 2017, the volume of cement shipments by rail to the Russian market increased by 11.8% compared to March 2017 and amounted to 2.4 million tons.

In the reporting month, the increase in cement shipment volumes compared to the previous month was observed at the plants of Gazmetallproekt +37 thousand tons (+ 13%) to 321 thousand tons, of Siberian cement +35 thousand tons (+ 30%) to 151 thousand tons, Vostoketsent +26 thousand tons (+ 29%) to 114 thousand tons, Basel +20 thousand tons (+ 43%) to 65 thousand tons, YUGPK + 15 thousand tons (+ 13%) to 127 thousand tons and Iskitimcement + 15 thousand tons (+ 44%) to 49 thousand tons.

In Bashkortostan near Magnitogorsk is planned to build a new cement plant. Residents of the Russian metallurgical capital are alarmed by yet another harmful production.

In the Chelyabinsk region and Bashkortostan, rumors have been rumbling the last days that a cement plant may appear on the border of two Russian regions in a couple of years. According to local media, the new plant will be located just a few kilometers from Magnitogorsk, whose severe environmental situation is already giving reasons for reflection.

Rail imports of cement in Russia in January-March 2017 increased by 11.2% compared to the corresponding period of 2016 and amounted to 213 thousand tons. 

The volume of cement shipment by railway transport in March increased by 5% compared to the same period last year. This allowed to reduce the rate of backlog in the shipment from -6.5% in January-February to -1.6% in January-March 2017. In absolute terms, the volume of cement shipments by rail to the Russian market for the three months of 2017 amounted to 4,653,000 tons.
